The illness told you, you were not a good person
The illness told you you were not a good father
The illness told you we would be better off without you
The illness lied
The illness told you we would forget within a short time
You, in a dark moment, told me the same
The illness lied;you were decieved
I think I now understand how ill you were
as to do what you did went against all the truths
You were a generous, strong, loyal and loving person
You were the best father
The lives and worlds of all who new you and those you were still to meet
will be lesser for you not being here
Your memory will be with all who new you for ever
These are the truths
Unfortunately it was the persistent and persuasive illness, with it's lies, that prevailed
Dad - forever in my heart and down the pub
